Anyone know about the "shotgun" modem technology by Diamond which allows use of 2 regular analog phone lines to give you 56k x 2 speed = 112k? Has anyone actually tried it to see if it works?

Isn't that right people? netsurfer 01-28-2000, 12:18 AM Well, don't forget your ISP has to support it too... and I haven't kept up with it lately, but I've only heard of Netcom supporting the dual modem concept. Also, it's been fairly unreliable. SysOpt 01-28-2000, 12:19 AM Yeah it works.. There are also other programs out there that do a very similar thing. Basically, they allow you to use two modems in your PC to dial to two lines on an ISP, and the software distributes your Internet requests between each line, effectively doubling the speed. The ISP has to support that too, but I don't recall the specifics.. I'm on DSL now, so... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif dkozloski 01-28-2000, 09:04 AM Borrow a modem and login from a buddy and try it because I have heard of ISP's that said they didn't support it and it worked anyway.
