Ed_S 01-11-2000, 08:01 PM In my opinion, Soyo is hard to beat. They have two good SS7 boards, the SY5EHM and the SY5EMA. I'll tell you about the 5EHM and I'm sure Susan will be along shortly to tell about the 5EMA. The 5EHM is AT format, has 1-agp, 3-pci, 3-isa, (1 shared) 2 simm slots, 2 dimm slots. Great selection of settings. FSB's 66, 75,83,95,100,112,124. Voltage 2.0 - 3.2 in .1 increments. Multipliers 2.0 -5.5 in .5 steps. Decent component placement with jumpers & switches easily accessable when assembled. CPU socket placed for good airflow. Soyo has so far been great about manual & bios updates. Have had good luck overclocking with it, had a 233MMX that wouldn't o/c at all on previous board but did 285 stable on this. Now running K6/2-400@450 very reliable. Downsides: Poor written documentation, but good one available online. Picky about it's drivers. Get them installed correct & all is well, wrong & you're in trouble! Simm slots are a waste, would be better to have more dimms Another pci slot would help, can't understand why ANY board has less than 8 total slots! http://www.soyo.com.tw/product/5ehm.htm SysOpt.com
