Yep, the most common interface is Firewire. You'll need a Firewire card on your PC, and a firewire port on the Camcorder. I use the Canon GL1 with a Pyro firewire card and it works great.

Another route is to get "Snappy"($99), "Studio MP10" by Pinnacle($200) or "Buz" by Iomega. Buz has a ultra scsi connection.$(200) Snappy or one of the others can do time lapse through a camera lens saved to HD and email to you elsewhere, hmmmmm. ,,Take me to your leader.
