Looks good. I see no problems. Are you thinking of oc'ing? B/c that video card is tops for oc'ers.

Johnny,
See if you can get just the basic sound blasterlive! value card, but I don't know if you A) plan on using the mp3 stuff, or B) if it will really save you much money.

also, unless you need the ls120, I would go for an internal zip drive instead, about the same price, and more widely used. But you may need one for something specific.

What company are you getting this from? I will run the same thign by a few I like and see what I get. But It looks good! about what I paid for my system about 4 months ago, and mines was about one step down (p3 450, 8 gig hard drive, yadda yadda...)

Thanks for the replys! Chip, I have a LS-120 on my other puter, so this will make it easier to transfer files back and forth. The MP3 version was the same price as the Gamer and they where out of the value series. Should I go with the Gamer version? www.hardwarepro (http://www.hardwarepro) is where I shop. Reseller Ratings are not good for this site, but I have had good luck with the other puter I bought from them. Thanks again!

Well for the sound card, they are all the same thing, just bundled with different software..so if you want some games, go with the gamer, if you want mp3 software, go with the mp3 version, thats basically the only difference.

Looks good, BUT I would change the HD to an IBM 34Gxp (from 13.6Gb to 34Gb)

Hi Johnny,
I have to agree with Stan. The price differnce between a 10GB HD and say a 20GB isn't really that great, and 10GB isn't really that much today. Apart from that though, sounds like you'll have kick *** computer!!!

Why not drop the 48x and ls120, and combine into an 8x cdrw? ****, i havent even read anything lately (three months) on cdrs, they might have faster speeds. But you wouldn't regret it, I guarantee!

Apostle,
I would still need the 48X, right? To copy from? And I would still have the problem of file sharing between my two puters. I would need to put a cdrw in both. Way to much money! I could network them, but crawling around under the house, running cable doesn't appeal to me! The new box will have a cdrw soon enough, but not at the start. The 13 gig hd is just at a great price, and I am trying to stay around 1000 bucks or my wife will make me live under the house! Thanks all!
