Holy **** man, I can see why you need to overclock your cpu! LOL JeffD78 12-28-1999, 02:07 PM I just recently reinstalled everything and haven't gotten around to killing all that stuff in the tray. By the status box I assume you're referring to the small window titled "WCPU". It's a program I got over at tweak3d.com. It's called WCLK or something like that. Incidentally, what's the worst that can happen when you overclock a CPU? My wife seems to think I'm going to destroy my computer and we can't exactly afford a new one.... [This message has been edited by JeffD78 (edited 12-28-1999).] richamies 12-29-1999, 01:59 AM How do you get the status box up on it? Andre 12-29-1999, 03:55 PM Yep, you should really get all that out of your system tray! Now back to your question. Yes, you can fry your CPU by running it at a higher speed. The system can get unstable and maybe even you motherboard will get fried! But thats not gonna happen. You can bet that olī P2 on that for sure! So just keep an eye on the temp of the CPU, if you can, and you will be allright. BTW Turn off the computer when it starts to smoke from it! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif wee96 12-29-1999, 11:25 PM I cant stop laughing at how many progs this guys got runnin http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif bigslammer 12-29-1999, 11:42 PM that's gotta be somekind of record. Mike P. http://crazydude.com/MikePrettyman JeffD78 12-30-1999, 10:11 AM The URL for the site is: http://www.digitalblasphemy.com There's quite a few other free ones there that are pretty cool. All computer rendered. They've got others there too, but you gotta pay for them. -edit Oh, and incidentally, all that garbage is out of the tray now. It was mainly stuff that Corel Wordperfect Suite put there when I reinstalled it. Just remembered. I stuck some of the wallpapers on one of my websites too. http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Office/1804/ Nothin' big, I just store files here mainly, had to put up an index so geocities would keep the site up though. Later... [This message has been edited by JeffD78 (edited 12-30-1999).] SysOpt.com
