JeffD78 12-29-1999, 11:53 AM What are some preferred methods of doing this? daveleau 12-30-1999, 12:01 AM One of the preferred metods is using a Win98 or Bios temp monitoring program if you have an lm or winbond chip on your motherboard. If not (like me) you can grab an indoor outdoor temp sensor from Radio Shack and place it in the fins of th HS as close to the bottom as possible to get an indirect temp. The Winbond temp is also indirect though since it is coming fromt he bottom of the processor and not the hottest part. Dave KeithV 12-30-1999, 12:30 AM My BX6.2 came with a nice little probe, just plugged it in and slid it in the sink. It never got over 80°f.. well, maybe 85° on a hot day. grandslammer 12-30-1999, 12:41 AM I've got a DFI motherboard (socket7)and it had a built in temp probe under the processor socket. Also had plugs on the board for AGP temp too. It had a program to monitor the temps and fan speeds. If there are any plugs on board, you could "rig" a temp probe to itand place it at your processor. Good luck Mike P. buitenb 12-30-1999, 12:47 AM i hve a dfi p5bv3+ rev b also with the nice sensors and running a k6-2-500 right out the box at 550 ! rockstable at 2,4 volt nice job for such a cheap cpu !along with 160 mb ram and a sb live and a viper 770 ultra it runs quake III real nice !
