I bought a g6-266 last year... Befor upgrading I decided to try overclocking it.. I have spent the last couple of days reading review and faqs up I am still in the dark. Can anyone help me this is my motherboardhttp://www.gateway.com/support/techdocs/references/motherboard/0aakw/0aakw.shtml

I took a look at the specs for that board using the link you provided.
Looks to me like it is extremely limited with the jumper options available for you to change, with the ones I saw providing only a fixed clock multiplier and FSB combo.
Unfortunately, this means that you are not likely going to be able to over-clock your CPU using that motherboard.

I was afraid of that.....I tried the various all the jumpers, but did not get anything faster than 266 (133 and 233). If anyone else has any other ideas I would be happy to listen. For the rest of you I would suggest to stay away from Gateway 2000 computers.. I was a pain just to find information on my motherboard.

You could try a software utility like SoftFSB or some other..... I don't know if your motherboard chipset would be supported or not, but it might be worth a shot.
