Slot 1 vs. PPGA

Besides upgradability, is their any real advantage between using a Celeron 366 or 400 with a PPGA Abit BM6 motherboard or spending more money and buying the Slot 1 adapter and buying a BF6 or BE6-II motherboard?

Does anyone know anything about the ASUS ME-99 motherboard? Can you fiddle with clock speeds from the bios like their P3B-F boards?
