I have been running my 450 at 527 and 558 but it will not run any more at these speeds. I have not changed anything and need to know what or if I can do anything. P3 450mhz, pc100, Abit BX6 version 2

Well you mentioned that it's been running at the 124mhz fsb but wont go higher...Does it "boot" and hang? or do you get NOTHING? if it boot and hangs I would say you need a bit more voltage AND OR you need pc133 ram as MOST PC100 ram flaks out at the 125mhz fsb http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

it says the cpu is unworkable and hangs up untill I set back to 450. Is it possible I damaged the processor or ram?

You changed the "Speed Error Hold" setting to enable which is NOT what you want if you want to overclock. Set speed error hold to disable and you will no longer get the CPU is unworkable error anymore.

Cpu unworkable means you have the multiplier set at the wrong setting. Make sure you keep it at 4.5, as your chip will not work whatsoever at any other multiplier.

i have the multiplier set at 4.5 and it still says "cpu is unworkable or has been changed" If I hit f1 instead of delete it will boot into windows and i check its speed and its 558 but the next time I boot it hangs up and go to default.
