Celeron vs PII or PIII

Currently i have a PII 450. I am perhaps thinking of upgrading. Due to the price differences in PIII and celeron what is the performance difference between them, running the same Mhz?? I play Q3A and use office 2000. Can anyone give me any help???

Judging by the Quake 3 benchmark results, a PIII 500 is much faster than a Celeron 500 in Quake 3. In other SSE enhanced games the PIII 500 is much faster. In non-SSE games the PIII 500 is only around 5% faster.

Upgrading from a PII 450 to a Celeron 500 is too little of a speed boost to even bother. Celerons only go up to 500 officialy. You might as will upgrade to a PIII.
