Hello everyone, what a graet topic to come back to. that is the main reason. I haven't been on the boards much. I've been sleeping with "UNCLE SAM" I got boxs of reciepts to go thro and input into the system again. since I lost my hardrive records and backup. I used to be a loyal "parson" man for years myself. and since they went out of the tax software business. I have been doing it by hand. and I'll be looking for a program this year to get me back on track. for I do others to. Business and regular people alike. so, I'm looking to find a new one to use this year. I use quicken 99 and quickbooks pro. full vers. for my records. cause as you all know. when you are self-employed and you have to pay it all yourself at the end on the year. you hate to write out that check to them.LOL. so I'll be in and out. and now you all know why. here are a couple of sites I use and like.
http://moneycentral.msn.com/tax/home.asp

and I couldn't get this link to load. never happened before.
quicken.com and look for taxs.

and even tho I wasen't here. I always had you all on my mind. hopeing someone would help me put back in all that data.LOL

You might want to stay in the "Intuit" family ( importability & compatability) and try TurboTax. When I was in business, it was the best/easiest/most intuitive Tax program I could use.

I currently use TaxAct (http://www.taxact.com)

good luck

I just got TurboTax Deluxe, and it has an option to import your quickbooks info into it!

I have not done any taxes on it yet, just installed it and looked around. It looks very easy to use.

Go for TurboTax, besides fed it handles individual state requirements extremely well.

TurboTax gets my vote. I've tried a few over the years and keep coming back to TT. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I've been using TurboTax the last few years, the first year, I figued it all out by hand then checked it with TurboTax, came out exactly the same, so I felt pretty comfortable just using it since. Pretty intuitive. I like easy when it comes to my taxes.

I'm back full time now. I started my taxes Tue. afternoon and finished this afternoon. I use the program that "stylin19" had pointed out. since I'm self-employed and have been for over 11 years. I never make over 20 grand anyway.ROTFLMAO big time, I was really amazed at it's power. for a free program. you can't use the forms it prints out. but, you can use them to copy to your real ones. and it dosen't have a audit checker in it either. I have been audited before. and passed with flying colors. so, I can live with that. and you have to uninstall it and reinstallet to make major changes in it. but, like I said for a free program. you can't beat it. or the IRS or can you ?LOL.
