Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the "gateway" logo which appears on the screen during bootup.I downloaded programs from Intel to create my own logo and convert it into a .usr file. During the conversion (from .bmp to .usr) the new logo is displayed on the screen but after I flash the user data area in the bios and reboot the gateway logo is still there and and no sign of my own.Any help, information or advice appriciated.

This is a freeware program that is great for what you want.
The start and shut-down pics are extention (sys) and must be a specific size - this program will help.
Startup is in C:\ LOGO.SYS
Shut-down in WINDOWS:\ LOGOW.SYS LOGOS.SYS

Maybe that part of the bios just doesn't like your screen!

Thanks for your replys but I'm not talking about the splash screens. Gateway use Intel mobo's with bios supplied by AMI. Gateway then modify the bios to include the gateway logo. this logo then appears for about 2 seconds after the PC is powered on,and before the ram count. Any ideas for changing this logo appriciated. thanks.

nedkelly-you may have given yourself the answer.

ID your chipset and BIOS, then go looking for non-proprietary 'flashes', but be careful.
