well i took the very sage advice form all of the gurus on this board and scraped the thermal pad from my tennmax pIII cooler. and let me tell you that a 20c drop in temp tells me that tennmax needs to sell them things without the pad ! i guess you do learn something new every day.

I too took that thermal pad off my TennMax cooler and noticed a drop in CPU temperature.

Not as dramatic as yours, but I managed to knock a few more degrees off.

I also polished my heatsync with a very light abrasive scratch pad before reapplying it to the CPU.
