I noticed my k6-2 450 running at about 50-55 degrees C whenever i do anything and i could not overclock very well at all, barely gets 475. Anyway, i put the voltage down to 2.3 and tried it, worked perfectly fine, ran all my games fine, ran a benchmark program with no errors. So i bumped the voltage down to 2.2. What do you know, ran great! Runs everything great, i could not believe it. It runs stabel as hell at 38 degrees celsius. But still cannot overclock. Oh well, at least it runs cooler.

Oh, and yes it is a 2.4 volt chip.

to go to 500mhz with that chip you will need at least 2.6 to 2.7 volts for 525 mhz you will need 2.9 or 3.0 volts
you'll need a alpha or globalwin heatsink with the best fan you can get like the Y-tech 27cfm unit you'll also need to lap the chip and heatsink and add extra case fan's to your box http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

hey guys... you are boiling a water. My Celeron333a (o'c @500 2.2V) has only 23°C. Using good aircooling from 3 sides, don't wanna mess up that watercooling... I think if I run my CPU at normal speed, its gonna freeze to death http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Yeah, AMD's run hot. But that is okay, because i just built a new computer with a celeron 366 ppga. I'll get mine way past 500mhz with the peltier i bought so there you go. Getting rid of the amd, only amd i would have now is the athlon.
