I have a PIII 500 with a PCI Stealth s540 Savage 4 card & BE6 Mobo 128megs Pc/100 8ns ram IBM 15.2 gig Deskstar ata/66 HD.
My question is:
What is the best o/c setting for me?
FSB PCIBUS Final_Outcome
115 38mhz 575mhz
120 40mhz 600mhz
124 41mhz 620mhz
124 31mhz 620mhz
Is it goin to be that much of a difference from 575 @115FSB to 600 @120FSB???
Please help

Your not going to know any actual user difference really. 25 mhz used to be a big deal when your dealing with 133 mhz processors but now your not going to notice any difference. I dont even notice a dif when I o/c my p3 450 to 558, because its already fast enough for everything im doing on it. I woudl stay a a lower stable setting and save yourself the hassle of melting something later on http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Oh yeah, I wanted to add...I run mine at 495 most of the time just to say that I can overclock it, I dont rum it higher myself for that earlier reason; to save myself hassle later on.

I don't recall anybody really being able to push a PIII 500 much past 600mhz. All you can really do is gradually step up our fsb speed and test for stability at each speed untill you find the highest possible speed at which it is stable. Beyond that if you really want to see what others have been able to do with their PIII 500's I would check out the overclocking survey.
