overclocking my e-machine?

i have a K6-2 333 e-machine, anyone had any success in overclocking these things?

i'd leave it where it is. from what i've seen, if you can get an E-MACHINE to boot then you're already doing pretty **** good.

I can't believe they can even clasify an E-Machine mother board as a motherboard. Looks like they used a 5"x7" flash card. You pretty much screwed on that one. Sorry.

They are right, you can't oc your e machine, but I will say that in my experience they are good pc's for what you pay for them. We have an emachine celeron 333 that we bought in march and put nt 4.0 ws on it. It has been running since, for like eight months, without a single reboot. For me that is impressive for a windows machine.

Sure you can. The motherboard has jumpers for multipliers, FSB & L2 cache. Also has voltage switches from 2.2v - 3.3v core. Supports 100mhz FSB. I have successfully overclocked a K6-2 350 to 400,429mhz. I am currently posting from an overclocked Emachine,K6-III 400 @450 rock solid.I did have to upgrade my power supply to a 250 watt unit.From all the posts I have read, My success is about on par with peoples who uses name brand boards. Here are some benchmarks,K6-III 400@ 450 /EMACHINE

CPUmark 99 = 47.4
SISoft Sandra / CPU Dhrystone 1406 MIPS
/FPU Whetstone 544 MFLOPS
Multimedia /Integer MMX 1204 it/s
/FPU 3DNow 902 it/s
Memory /CPU memory bandwith 127 MB/s
/FPU memory bandwith 128 MB/s

This compares very well with some well known boards. It can be done, it has been done. Go for it and good luck.
