half the people I have showed it too couldnt pull it up, the other half it works just fine.... http://www.terraserver.com

I have spent an hour or two , starting at turner field in atlanta, to finding my house in marietta GA....it zooms in to 200 yards, which is pretty cool! kinda scary too. let me know if you have any success with it!

I can't get on to that site...alway get "connection refused" or "connection timed out".

Is it the same thing as:
http://www.terraserver.microsoft.com/

Which works all the time for me.

Got it to partially work. Holly S!!!

Pretty soon, forget individual web cams, get a live feed and zoom in on anyone. Hey, there's my neighbor picking his nose. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I've been there before and was able to navigate all over town (OKC). But they have lately blocked out most of downtown! I'll bet the friggin feds did that cause of the bombing or something like that-really pisses me off.

Yeah I figured it would be....still feel like I'm selling my soul or something. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Everytime though with the other site I get

Connection Refused
Description: Connection Refused

What's up with that?

It's pretty cool, but doesn't have anything for my area.... It has stuff around it, but my main area (Buffalo, NY) doesn't have any data for it. Thus, I can't use it to find my house http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif. Scary, though.

Go hang out in the Fly! scenery forum at www.avsim.com (http://www.avsim.com) and you'll work out why this place is always busy.
The editor for this flight sim uses Terraserver imagery to create user-defined scenery.

PS It's real useful for planning burglaries of your street, terrorist attacks, etc. Downtown Moscow used to be on there too. Wonder why that disappeared.

Chipbgt! I am holding you personally responsible for making me waste 3 hours of my time looking at my town from a satellite! You are right, that place just sucks you right in. Amazing site, thanks for posting.

At Southern Co. we found terraserver a couple of years ago.. Kewl site huh,, anyone who hasen't been to www.nasa.gov (http://www.nasa.gov) needs to go to the mulitmedia photo gallery and check out the Hubble Space Telescope Photos.. far out is a understatement, Alien

Check out your tax $$$ at work. Use the Terra server to view Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ. If you find it, you'll see thousands of aircraft mothballed in the desert and a whole bunch of B-52's being demo'd to satisy the START treaty with the former USSR.
There must be $100-150 billion on the ground there!

Enjoy...
