is beos free...and if it is how can i get it???

Currently, it's not free. But version 5.0 wil have 2 versions: a free "lite" version, and a normal pay version.

With the free version, you aren't allowed to use it for any commercial applications, and it doesn't come with all the features as the pay version.

Basically, I think this is a token gesture to try to intice developers to support this platform instead of the various Open Source ones.

But I suppose it is a step in the right direction at least. I'll stick with Mandrake 7.0 for now.
