Maybe you peeps can give me some suggestions on what i planned... /forum/smile.gif I ordered an Athlon 500. I wanted to overclock it to 700MHz with serious cooling according to the Guide on www.tomshardware.com. (http://www.tomshardware.com.) I don't see the problems in soldering some smd-parts somewhere...
My real problems are these 3:
1) Would it be possible running the Athlon 500 (rock-)stable at 700?
2) Where to get go _good_ cooling-device (like the "Sandwich"-cooler for PII). I am _not_ talking about peltier or kryogenic coolers (i can't afford such!). Just a normal cooling unit that does the job even better than the ones that come with the cpu. Any suggestions? /forum/smile.gif
2) The CPU Voltage. How much would i have to increase the CPU-Voltage to get a Athlon 500 running at 700 ? Tomshardware.com increased the voltage for 0.05V o/c'ing a Athlon 650 to 750 (so the voltage was 1.65V). What voltage would you suggest to use in this "bigger" step of overclocking? Also 1.65V maybe???
I would really appreciate some answers from people who already tried o/c'ing the Athlon this way... Thx a lot in advance.
So long guys,
Sascha
