Intel 233 better than amd k-6 233?

I have a AMD K6 233 at the moment and in my opinion it is a lot better than the 233 MMX.
I've 64Mb of EDO ram and it performs better than a dual P200 Pro with 128MB of Ram that I run at work.

The intel processor is faster for gaming because it has better fpu performance (floating point), but for buisness apps i'd say they are about the same.

In my opinion, the 233mmx is a workhorse that will last forever. I built two systems a couple of years ago for a business, and they have been off for two weeks in that time and are used every day...... I have never had an intel 233 fail on me. Too bad they didn't stick to the same socket 7 setup...

I built a k6-233 system for my sister a year ago, and I also built a 233mmx pentium system for my friend. I'd say for the price, get the K6. In buisness apps, the k6 wastes the pentium, though in games it lacks the fpu power. I guess in actuality it depends on what your using the system for. K6 = buisness apps, P233 = gaming system.

Just a quick question, I have a amd k-6 233 in my second machine and it's o.k. for a 233, but I was given an Intel 233 mmx cpu. is this a better cpu than the amd? I am bored and I want to play!! Thanks, Jim

Of the two, AMD chip runs a little hotter, bigger L1 cache makes it better in applications than the Intel chip at the same speed.

Pentium 233MMX is much better in games than the K6-233

Two of my five computers are a 233 AMD and a 233 Intel. To tell the truth, I can not see any difference in the two in speed and power. They both are very similar in hardware except the video cards with the AMD running a Voodoo II, the Intell a Hurcules. I'v had both of them now for about two years. I really think the only way anyone can tell the difference between the two is with a benchmark program, not with the naked eye.
