I got the chance today to spend 30 minutes on an Athlon 600 machine. It had ATA 66 HDD, only 64MB SDRAM, and a TNT-2, but I was thoroughly impressed! Wow!
The system didn't have much on it, a few applications and low res games. I spend my time doing obscure *.xxx searches, and tweaking bitmaps just to get an idea of the system performance.
No flashlight or hourglass here! Changing windows and opening new applictions - don't blink, you'll miss it. I just wish it had some photo suite I could have tried. I had some doubts about the review on Sysopt's main site - until now.
I can see where Intel would be concerned.
Wow - I gotta get me one of these.

That'll learn us about doubting a SysOpt review...

Heh, I already have one!!!
Can't wait to use it. The company forgot to send the Enlight 300w PS. The thing's been sitting on my workbench for 6 days, and I've been nearly driven insane with anticipation.
It's really a thing of beauty though, especially in it's Enlight 8950 Xeon case!

Win98SE, and Directx7 (as far as I could tell) was installed on the one I tried, I did not notice any problems, but then again I did not do any DX games. I did run the graphics diagnostics just to see what would happen.
