Strange benchmark results

I o/c'ed my pIII 450 to 558mhz, but now i;m getting strange results when I'm benchmarking:
When I just o/c'ed it I got around 39 ZD cpu-marks and about 7600 3dmark99 cpu-points.
But for a reason I still don't know., they suddenly jumped up to 43 cpu-marks and 8600 cpu-points. But now they're back at the old values again... Does anyone know what is going on here? I know I should get the higher values, the ones i'm getting now are more close to the ones I should get @504mhz...

Well I have a hercules TNT2u and with q3test (the newest version) I'm getting around 48 fps at high quality settings.

I don't know what's going on with you benches, but have you tried a game that lets you do a frame rate test(q2,q3,unreal,UT,Halflife,ect) Those would give you a better indication if its worth the OC. What 3d card do you have?
