I would probably say that Dell has the best reputation. Their prices are kind of high though. They have great tech support. As for cheap, it varies from company to company. Hope this helps.
Dave

Hi Daphne

You may want to look at SysOpt's ResellerRatings (http://www.resellerratings.com/). They have a large listing of vendors and they are rated by consumers.

I would suggest you will have better luck getting answers for your Compaq laptop problem if you post your problem separately in Technical Support. Give as much information as you can in your post and people will be happy to help you.

Good luck on your project! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Daphne,

Welcome to the Internet and congratulation on finding a place to call home (virtually of course) the growing metropolis of SysOpt.com. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Maybe some one played with your setting and adjusted down your brightness, contrast or perhaps both.

It would be something most people overlook thinking that surely the problem is more complicated than trivial.

If your needs are general work and surfing the net, take a look at Dell’s new webpc (http://www.webpc.com/) line of systems. I’ve had a great deal of experience with Gateway and recommend them highly.

Regards,

Zotz Mein
