Does anyone know of any retailers for metal desks. Like high quality, able to hold a ton, kind of desks. I have this 5' wide desk and I am running out of room. And as soon as I build my linux box I will have to keep on the floor if I do not "upgrade" my desk. I want metal because I really want it to last.

Check with your local school board to see if they are trying to get rid of old desks. Also the phone company at times has used stuff like this for sale. Good quality and low prices.

Ya it sucks trying. I hate those cheap desks at the office stores. I dont understand why they dont spend 10$ more on using quality laminants vs the paper thin ****!

I would have no problem spending more money on a quality desk if it were only an option.

I suggest going to an office furniture store to browse decent desks.

Browse the Auctions sections of your local paper and also look for a used office furniture shop in your town..there are great deals out there on quality stuff...also contact receiver/accountant businesses that sell off complete offices at unbelievable deals..

Metal desks are expensive. Steelcase is one quality brand that comes to mind.

There are office equipment liqidators wherever there are businesses going under. Search in your area with www.yellowpages.com (http://www.yellowpages.com) . Look under Office Furniture.
