i was gonna give you a web page that shows you how to do it, but i cant find it anymore! but i can still tell you how...

it easy. take one of those screws that hold the cover of your computer case on, and lay it on a table with the threaded part pointing straight up. then, take your p3 and find those little holes (there should be 4 of them) where the pins from the other side come through. line up the hole with the screw on the table, and shove it down. the screw will pop the pin out, and after you do it with all 4, the heatsink will come right off. the fan is usually a clip-on thing that comes off the heatsink very easily when you push in the sides and lift it off.

does someone else have that web site that shows how to do this? that way he can see pictures, too.....
