how fast have you gotten your K6-2 or 3 ? post your results

would like to know how fast all you over clockers have gotten your AMD K6-2 and 3 chips dont just tell us the speed give details bus speed, mulitiplyer settings, voltages, etc etc and bench marks if you have them I'm running a K6-2 450 @ 525 bus 105 mulit 5.0 v-core 2.8 on a asus P5A-B mobo

Hi. I have a K6-3 450 @500, 2.8 vcore, alpha,ytech 27cfm, lapped chip/alpha,80mm case fan blowing on the side of alpha, and silver paste. temps are between 18C and 30C. Stable! =) The mobo is a FUC 503A with 2meg L3.

I have overclocked my K6-2 350 to 380mhz@2.2v, 95mhz FSB and 4.0 multiplyer. I previously had it at 375mhz@2.2v, 83mhz FSB, 4.5 multiplyer, AGP card on PCI bus and hard drives kicked back a couple of notches to avoid corruption. No benchmarks yet! (aiming for 400mhz@2.2v)

you shouldn't have to put the brakes on IDE or not use AGP.

Don't be afraid of 83 MHz CPU bus on socket-7 systems with non-Intel chipsets. PCI, AGP and IDE bus will stay within specification. At 83, any ALi, SiS or VIA chipset has AGP at 66 and PCI at 33 (or 66 for newer chipsets).

Only Intel's chipsets can't do that properly for CPU bus speeds other than 66 and 100 (and 133 for their latest offerings).

Currently running a k6-2 450 @ 500 (100*5) 2.7v on an AZZA PT5-VML m/b (512kb cache). I've had it a high as 523 (95*5.5) but it lacks stability after a few hours.

Here's the benchmarks under SiSoftSandra99 Pro:

I can get my K6-2 400 to 500 stable at 2.9v core but I have to keep the temp at 110F or lower. If I get it below 80F then it will even run at 2.7v core - but above 500mhz was a no-go/ nothing stable.

and I agree with the lght1 who posted that his AMD was running on a "FUC 503a" -yeah, that is about what I think of my 503s - hehe

Thanks for the advice. My manual said that the bus would have a 33mhz PCI @ 83FSB but I wasn't sure. Sadly, since I installed unreal because of the extra buren on the chip I'm stuck at 350mhz. I think it'll do 366 but thats a 66mhz FSB /forum/frown.gif Thanx again!
