Thanks a bunch for any help. mh454 10-25-1999, 07:40 PM I use Heat Monitor Pro. I works really good, tells you temp, rpm of fans, and voltage. The Pro version comes with a built in CPU idleler and a CPU throtleler. Both are shareware Pro is $20 and normal is $15. I stilling using them on shareware but I might buy the Pro version because it works so good. I have an ASUS P5A which probably has the same temp sensor as your mobo. Also to get acurate results boot your machine and go into your BIOS and let it set for awhile and check the temp. Quickly go into Windows and set Heat Monitor pro to your BIOS. Mine was off by about 9F. Have fun. Brian48 10-26-1999, 12:03 AM There's alot (Winsystem98, MBM v4.10, etc.), but what's wrong with Asus's own Probe v2.02? You can get it at Asus's website. guitarboy 10-26-1999, 01:28 AM Well... my motherboard has been modified by Hewlett Packard. It a proprietary version of the P5S-VM. I don't know exactly what changes they've made to it but when I try to install probe, I get a "can't find DMI entry point" error followed by a message saying that it isn't even an ASUS motherboard (which it is of course). Oh well.. it looks like HP cut out some features to keep the thing down in cost. That's what I get for not building my own computer. Hope to remedy that soon when I can spare the cash. deep_sky 10-27-1999, 12:51 AM my bios can detect voltages and cpu temp..i have a pcchips(yes that is what i get too for not building the whole thing from scratch) mobo and an amd k6-2 450...is there a program out there that can monitor this type of system. i tried using winsystem98 but it is not designed for my type of system.. deep_sky 10-29-1999, 02:17 PM where does one get heat monitor pro?????
