what motherboard do you have go to there web site and check there for instructions as not all flash programs are the same make sure you have the flash program for your bioes and the right bios for your mother board
also check this sites bios pages there is a lot of good info there /forum/smile.gif go to the main page for sysopt then guildes then bios information good luck it easyer than it sounds and well worth it to upgrade your bios
just check every thing twice /forum/smile.gif

Okay grab your balls and prepare for anything:

1. Check your motherboard manufacturer and BIOS type.

2. Download the BIOS file and flashing utility and be absolutetly sure they are the correct files. And read the instructions that came along with the BIOS file and flashing utilities for any precautions or problems that may occur.

2.1. Check if you need to change a jumper, switch or anything in your motherboard. Read the manual. And I mean READ IT!

3. Make a bootable floppy.

4. Depending on your BIOS manufacturer copy the Flashing program (in Award BIOS is the awardflsh or something like that) on the disk along with the downloaded BIOS binary.

5. Restart with your floppy or you can try starting in Command Prompt if you are using win9x.

6. Run the flash utility.

7. Restart or shutdown, depending on your motherboard. And if you need to move a switch or jumper do it so.

8. Your computer should start-up, if it doesn't then you have forgot something, either you used a bad flash program, BIOS file, didn't change some jumper or setting.

Just be carefull and check and re-check everything you need to do before, during and after the update.

They are somewhat correct.

1.) turn on the computer
2.) when the screen comes up about your BIOS
i.e. award BIOS etc. As soon as that comes up pull down your pants.

This also works fine if you want to flash oh say your dog or cat /forum/smile.gif

Your best bet is to read and follow the directions on this web site. They are the most comprensive and easy to follow instructions I have ever found on how to flash any BIOS.
