Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Worried about cooling with Abit BP6 dual celeron board
I am getting ready to order the BP6 and wondering about space for a Tom Leufkens Peltier Element under an Alpha 7HO Heatsink fan combo. You can see a picture and description of the peltier, At www.3dfxcool.com (http://www.3dfxcool.com) I am worried about clearence between the 2 sockets for the processors. especially the pelter foam gaskets. Please let me know if I can do this setup.
Thanks,
Dave

I've got a couple of BP6s and there's not much room between the processor sockets. You'd better get some dimensions on the cooling unit and then measure the BP6.
The unit handles regular fans fine but there are a lot of caps around the processor sockets and one of the sockets is real close to the memory bank.
I wasn't going to comment but I had a BP6 still in the box and was curious about your question. There's just not a lot of room around the processor sockets and on the one I still have in the box, there are banks of tall electrolytics on both sides of each processor socket.
If you get an elaborate cooling system to fit the board let me know how you did it.
Good luck with your project.

I added a 40mm peltier under my Celeron 366. I got it from TE Distributing. I topped it off with an Alpha heatsink and YS Tech fan.
I had to "slighly" push the capacitors out of the way for the heatsink, but it was only a few thousandths of an inch, so they are fine.
Right now the 366 is running 573 MHz @ 2.2 volts and is a steady 32°C while under full 100% CPU load.
When you ordered your peltier did it come with just 2 wire leads or did it come with connectors? I would like to find a peltier kit for the celeron. Does anyone know where I can get one? I was looking at 3dfxcool but i have only found the one for the PII and PIII.

hi dkay, try to go to the http://millisec.safeshopper.com/
i think they have the peltier cooler and even the heatsink. i dunno that it will work with your situation or not but it's worth it to check /forum/smile.gif if you have any questions, just write some e-mail and they will reply you with good and helpfull solution
Thank you. Do you have to use those foam compression gaskets because I think those will fit with out those, But if I havta use them I dunno. And also you don't havta use that specific HS do you? I don't think so but wanted to check
thank you everyone

My peltier came with 2 wire leads which I just soldered on my own connectors and plugged it into my 12 volt power supply hard drive line. They cost me $2.00 at an electronics store.
