The new K6-2 500mhz chip I just put in is rocking, it does much better than the 400 I had in. By the way, I got the 2.2v version so it is for just about everyone to get. I am sure that compared to other chips it is still a little behind, but for those who can only basically ahve K6-2's in there machine it is a good upgrade.
Wintune Results:
1061 MIPS
585 MFLOPS

I have Sandra Sisoft benchmarks right here so anyone please tell me if these sound good:
1332 MIPS
585 MFLOPS
Interger MMX 1292 it/s
Floating Point 3d Now! 968 it/s
Anyone tell me if this chip's benchmarks are good, poor, or awesome. According to Sandra it runs with the P3 500. That I think is good for AMD K6-2's. By the way it is the new 500mhz version, not o\c.

is that program free? and if not, how much did all of you pay for it?

Hey tracker...
Do you ever use SiSoft Sandra? If so, how about posting the cpu results you get from there.
Just curious, because when I use win tune, etc, the results are so errattic, they are never the same two times in a row for me, but sandra seems much more consistent.
Anyway, just a thought.
Good luck in all...

Sounds awesome to me! Like I said, I like Sandra's results better, 'cause wintune's results are so inconsistent (on my machine, anyway...)
Good luck in all

Tracker, what kind of motherboard are you using? I was just wondering cause on my K6-2 450mhz o/c to 500mhz, I got
1377 MIPS
609 MFLOPS
Interger MMX 1375 it/s
Floating Point 3d Now! 985 it/s
now I know that your chip is supposed to do much better than the o/c ones.. I would recommend you to get the PowerTweak from www.zdnet.com (http://www.zdnet.com) and you'll see how much you'll gain on Sandra's benchmark.... /forum/smile.gif

Tracker, your CPU benchmark is slower than mine. How come? Are you sure you have optimized everything? Yours should be at least a little faster than mine using this jurassic-aged board.
Well, looking from the benchmark, it is not too bad at all I guess...remembering this is an old TX97 board. Glad to read this posting because I know my system is not so much slower than I thought.
Most importantly, Glad I can save money to upgrade this computer while I'm broke. :-)

Well the fact is that I am using a factory made Acer board, which has 160mb of RAM on it, and the Ess sound, and Rage Pro Turbo 2X built in as well. This is what is holding me back I know, but I need to wait a while before I upgrade this part of the system. But I am happy with the performance I am getting right now.

what about my scores then?
they are pretty okey for a amd 400@500mhz

Runs with the P3 500? I've got a VA503+ Super 7 mb and I was thinking of going with the K-3 450 instead, but now you got me doubting. Does this chip just drop right in with it's own fan, and that's it?
