We have nearly 6000 members who use this message board and only 127 of them are on our RC5-64 team. I cannot believe that! For all of you that are not on the team you don't know what you are missing!!
Being on the team provides you with an excellent way to gauge the performance of your machine against other comparable machines. This helps tremendously when you are trying to tweak your performance and allows you to try different configurations with hard evidence of the success or failure of those alterations.
In addition, it really is alot of fun to watch your daily or hourly progress. There is a bit of a competitive spirit within the team itself and we as a whole compete against MANY other teams from all over the world.
You don't have to have a superfast machine to be an asset to the team...if only 100 members who are not on the team would join and submit only 100 blocks per day, we would get an increase of 10000 blocks per day!! That is what the whole project is about...distributing the work!!
I personally am proud to be on the team if only to support the people who are not only willing but eager to provide me with help and knowledge whenever I am having a difficult time or don't understand something.
If you are not on our RC5-64 team already, do yourself and the team a favor and join...I guarantee you won't be disappointed! There are links to join in the "Distributed Computing" forum.
