I have a C400 on an Aopen AX6B pro gold MB. I have a V3-3000. My RAM is 64 MB PC133.

I've tried overclocking to 410, 450 and 500 Mhz. Win 98 boots up nicely in all cases, and everything seems OK. Benchmarks reveal performance increases, naturally.

Everyone says that overclocking is damaging to the CPU, but how risky is it really to O/C the CPU to 450 or 500 Mhz? I ask because I don't want to ruin my system.

Whell if it boots up and runs fine then congrats!
Now I would focus on cooling the chip ann and the case. Add another exhaust fan to the case. A blowhole (located on top of the case usually blowing outward is the best) or just a fan on the case. Most cases come with a spot for another fan.
And make sure you replace the factory heatsink and fan on the case. Alpha is the best. And use a thermal paste or grease inbetween the sink and the proc. Good luck!
