HI there:
I just installed an ALPHA cooler for my p3-450 and all I have to say is WOW!!!! As far as the sensor on the board the temps went down approx. 16°C without any software cooling. The CPU is running at a nice cool 33°C with case temp of 30°C. It’s a little noisier then the old fan but a lot cooler. I have it overclocked to 558Mhz without any hiccups and now its running nice and cool. I would try to push this CPU higher but alas I only have PC100 Ram and it could not handle the 133Mhz buss speed and I think the TNT2U might get a tad upset also. I wonder if the new VIA chipset motherboards are gonna be any good I think it’s the 133A instead of the 133 chipset. Does anyone know who is going to make boards with the 133A chipset? I was looking at SOYO’s page and I saw a board based on the VIA Apollo 133 chipset but not on the 133. I here you can push the buss to 133MHZ but still run the ram @100MHz is that true?
BTW I picked it up from computernerd
