Just got cable modem http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Trying Napster. First 2 songs d/l'd fine; next 2 came up 'unavailable' after they appeared to d/l http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif What does this mean, exactly?

I have a cable modem and have yet to get napster to work, PERIOD. I have friends on 56k modems who get it to work fine..Napster depends a lot on whether the person your downloading from stays online...so if you got it to work once, im sure thats what it is..give it a few more whirls and see how it does.

the unavailable message means the person went offline. I am an advid user of Napster, and it has caused quite a stir @ sysopt. Here are the links to those "discussions" =]

the reliability of Napster depends on the number of users. so go on late at night and you'll have a great connection.

Just an add-on, try to find friendly people to d/l from, cause people on there will act like a******* and cancel all of your d/ls.

sorry, i'm abit inebbriated tonight.

Napster depemds on your connection as well as the person you connect to. It works fine for me about every third try. Problem is it will not negotiate 2 firewalls, so if you and them run BID or such, it wont work.

chipbgt, are you running a firewall? I find napster not working when I have mine on. It's probably something else, but I figure I might as well state a possible reason. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
