My RAM would do fine and my videocard and HDDcontroller would run again with 33 Mhz.
But: Can I risk oc my PII 400 at 533Mhz?
Perhaps with a sandwich-cooler?

Thanks!

The only way to know is to try. I have a P2-450 that won't take a FSB speed above about 117MHz. Cooling is important, but every device has its limits. Mine might go a little faster with refrigeration, but I haven't moved on that project lately.

Its difficult to break 500 on a PII...but its quite possible. 500 is usually the viable limit.

4.5x117=527 ~ solid.

P2-450 with dual peltier coolers and insulation, Alpha heatsink and fan = 527 MHz solid at 100% CPU load.

Well, I use a GA 6BXC mo which can only handle 100, 112 and 133 Mhz.

When I use 112*4 it run stable @ 450 but freezed up with 133*4 @ 533.
SoftFSB can use only this 3 speeds. Is there any other way to oc my PII 400?
ROY you posted 4.5! But a PII is locked against any other multipliers, I think?
If I try using 4.5 or so the CPU ignores that and uses 4!

What can I do?

Mine is a P2-450.

Until you have a mobo that gives some speeds between 112 and 133, you won't know what your CPU's limit is. Then, it might be 450. It's the luck of the draw.
