Okay i have tried to install a 350mhz cpu amd k6-2 in on my amptron 9600 board flashed bios says it will go to 366mhz.got 333 or 374
mhz due to having only 83mhz jumper x 4.5
running it at 2.5v.Now its like i have a virus but i dont, when i try to run halflife on net says my hl.exe file has changed.can anyone tell me what the settings should be for this chip?

As the K6/2-350 requires a bus speed of 100MHz (which your board does not seem to support), I think you are just going to have to play around with voltage till you can get it to run at a stable speed on the 83MHz fsb.
Stock settings for a 350 are: 100MHz fsb, multiplier set at 3.5x, and 2.2v. Watch how high you go on the voltage though- above 2.4v you'll need a heavy-duty heatsink/fan to both cool the chip and increase chances of stability at higher voltages.
Hope this is helpful /forum/smile.gif

Try setting it at 66mhz bus and a 2x (yes, 2x.. trust me) bus. The chip should interpret the 2x multiplier as a 6x multiplier and you'll get 400mhz. I've done this myself with that exact chip, and it has always worked. Let me know what happens for you.

Update...
Tried 66mhz at 2x it is verey unstable lots of windows errors. Its running at 400mhz. So am now running at 366mhz seems to be good..
settings are 60mhz at 2x 2.5 volts.
wiil keep ya informed. What is a real good MB
with 100mhz bus ?

I have an Epox MVP3-C, which works pretty well; have not had problems with it. It has lots of voltage settings (if you don't have a problem using undocumented jumper settings that work perfectly). It doesn't have any bus settings above 100mhz, but it has 75 and 83 for what it's worth. Anyway, that's the extent of my Super 7 experience.

I've got Soyo 5EHM, which is SS7 board. AT form, but also has ATX P/S header. Slots are 1 AGP, 3 PCI, 3 ISA including shared PCI/ISA, 2 SIMM, 2 DIMM
Has good setting range, voltages from 2.0 through 3.5 in .1 steps, multipliers though 5.5x, FSB's 60, 66, 75, 83.3, 95, 100, 112, and 124.
Setting changes with switches or jumpers, all easily accessable when fully populated. Drive bays could be in the way depending on the case.

Great 'clocker board IMHO. Used with 233MMX @ 285, now with K6/2-400 @ 450.
The 233 would not o/c at all on previous board, made it easily on this one.

One catch is the documentation. The book will get it running, but you need the CD docs and their website to get it RIGHT!
