It looks very good indeed. I understand that it is somewhat difficult to OC a 333 to 500.
How is the stability? Do you find the fans noisy at all?
Thanks for posting the screen shots. the first one says it all, but the others are a little fuzzy.

No, the fans arn't noisy at all, their small(mabe 2 inch square) and yes it was very difficult to reach 500, but it runs VERY stable, and at low temps 10-19 degrees c. and low voltage 2.0 V. It's been running for over a month now. Not one crash related to the processor. I have winblows 98 second edition...it crashes once in a while..lol, microsoft go figure...
I think you can see most of the voltages, temps (MB&Processor) and multiplier settings On the images I posted http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Thanx for your input,

Anyone know of a celeron 333a slot-1, going over 500?

i had a c333a slot 1 that went 522 a while ago...now i have a c333@515 or 500 ppga with slotket on bx6r2...my benchmarks in sandra were better than that at 500 mhz...they were 670 mflops and 1354 of the other things... a little better than yours but when i run at 515, i waste those stats and it kicks ***...you should get softfsb for windows and try it...you run at lowere voltage and temp, you would be able to get 515 easy!!!

Yes I too can reach 500 with my 333 slot 1 celeron.

I to am running a Celery 333a at above 500 516 to be exact. Had to get 2.4vs to do it stable though. but I am very happy with it as I beat the PIII's in every benchmark except the Floating point FPU scores verus the PIII's sse instructions. my cpu scores are 1401 and 681 respectfully.
Chad174, I'm glad to hear that SoftFSB has been of some assistance!
Lets keep clockin thoses clelery's http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

mmm....
your benchmarks seem a little slow, but that could mean a lot of things (speed of Mobo, CPU load, appz running)
I have a Celeron 300A SL32A running stable at 526mhz (it posted at 600 but crashed) on a MSI 6163 w/ 2.4v and a peltier fan.
I have sisoft sandra and my bechmarks were:
1418 mips & 667 MFLOPs
but i have to give props to you..not many ppl. OC the 333 to 500

Where can I get softfsb?

CPU Core temp look low to me (how dod you do it), 15 Deg C versus 29 Deg C MB temp? you using peltiers,Idle App? what are the CPU temps under load? Thanks for the great screen shots! N2Deep- you can find FSB here.. www.h-oda.com/ (http://www.h-oda.com/)

I've got a retail Celeron 333 that I've been dying to overclock, but the motherboard doesn't seem to let me choose anything other than 66 or 100 for the FSB even though it supports everything in between. I've tried getting the processor out to tape up B21 (i went out an bought teflon) but it's stuck in the retention slot. I can't get it out.
Everytime I bring up this fact, and ask for help, it seems like the thread dies and no one will respond http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I think I'm scaring people away! oh no!

Hello everyone, thanx for your input and help.
I have hit a new speed with softfsb. 516 MHz
Here are some new immages.

gradius, if the teflon stuck in the retention slot is not hurting anything, leave it stuck their, unless it's a huge clod of teflon that keeps you from pluging your slot-1 in. If thats the case, hit your self over the head with your keyboard(just kidding) get some tweezers....digg it out.
or mabe...a blow tourch, or some TNT (Not Riva) lol.... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

he means how did you get it so cool???and btw, your welcome for reccomending softfsb and getting you another 16 mh...i doubt you will get any higher without very extreme cooling, i.e. watercooling with double peltiers, run in a refrrigerator, **** like that.

Does SoftFSB really help with the OCing? I got a 350 to 466 at 2.2v..just got an alpha for it...And i wanna break the almighty 133FSB limit!!(cruddy BH6's just aint good enuf anymore.)Lookin at the SY-6BA+III or whatever its called...cuz its got that plethora of FSB settings and rock solid stability im actaully buying a new board for..Say anyone else every breat 133FSB? (no lowering Multiplier on older CPU's!! thats cheating!!) ..and heres just a lil tidbit to compare your 333@500/100 to my 350@466/133
CPU Dhrystone 1270 MIPS
FPU Whetstone 624 MFLOPS
Not sure what tests FSB makes a diff in but this sure isnt one of em, as the 500 readily smokes my 466

AuraEdge,
SoftFSB is a neat little software prog that actually lets you set the FSB on supported motherboards while you are up and running (change fsb on the fly). it really helps those of us that dont have extreme cooling or hard chips to over clock. such as our C333's. in my case it takes 2.6volts to BOOT all the way into windows at 516mhz when the FSB is set to 103 in the bios PRIOR to starting the computer. but when I run my computer at 2.4volts and boot into windows at 83mhz fsb and then once into windows I use SOFTFSB to CHANGE my FSB to 103 and can run all day at 516mhz at 2.4 instead of 2.6!. it just gets to hot for it to boot all the way into windows when "hard set" at 516 with all the hardware that I run in my system. so SOFTFSB is the way to go....
get SOFTFSB from www.h-oda.com (http://www.h-oda.com) he also has another utiltiy that you can use to verify what chip speed you are running.
Enjoy
Mntsnow
ps. SOFTFSB doesnt effect benchmarking in anway. I get the same "results" if I BOOT into windows at the test speed or use SOFTFSB to change to the test speed before the test.
Just think of SoftFSB as "shift on the fly" 4wheel drive.........

uhh...I knew that =P
Just didnt know if u set it and then restart it would make any difference...hmm Any explaination for this?
I dont really get it.

How in hades can your processor be cooler than the ambient case temp?
Thermodynamics says that its not possible.
Are you using some special ducted cooling, or water cooling?
N2deep
08-11-1999, 06:53 PM
Tiger Tinaka, I was wandering that myself..I don't seem right, so I took my cele-sandwitch apart and installed a new thermister, I get the same temps....Go figure, mabe it's because I'm running RAIN. When I play a long game of rainbow six it jumps up to like 27-34

It looks like you have your temperatures mismarked. The cpu should be higher than the system.
N2deep

humm.. I used LM 75-1 for the cpu temp, and Winbond 1 for the system temp. If these settings are wrong please let me know, but I don't think they are.
