dont quite get it. I have an ABIT BH6 and Celeron 400mhz. I had it oc'd to 450mhz (6 * 75, 2.0V) and it ran great. I just flashed the bios, and now, even tho my settings are the same, my system reads it as a Celeron 466mhz, and Sandra tells me it a 486mhz.
I understand that Windows just gets as close as it can, so I'm thinking Sandra must be more accurate. Does that sound right? That I get an extra 36mhz just for updating the Bios? I didnt see any turbo settings...
Also - do I still need to burn it in, even tho I'm getting by on the default 2.0 volts?

What do u mean ur system reads? U mean the post? usually the post is on the dot except for turbo settings..as for Sandra, are u sure ur not reading the PR (preformance rating) number?

Yep, I meant the post reads my cpu as a Celeron 466mhz. I rechecked Sandra - it says:
Processor(s) Intel Celeron 486mhz
Performance Rating PR583 (estimated)

I checked under mainboard information this time, too: it says my FSB is set to 81 mhz, instead of the 75mhz I set it to.

There was a new turbo setting with the new bios, but it isnt available unless you use the 100mhz FSB, so I didnt think it would apply, but I'm getting the extra mhz from somewhere, I think. Thats fine by me, assuming that's correct. I just dont where its coming from.

The way to find out for sure is to run the rc5 client.. If you do blocks faster than 1.25 MKey/s, then you are definitely over 450 MHz and something VERY interesting is going on here.

I only had time for a couple of blocks to complete - gotta goto work now...

1st block: 1.352Mkey/s
2nd block: 1.354Mkey/s

So I guess I'm really over 450mhz, anyway. I like that http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
That was with just Rc5 running, and everything else shut down.

Gotta run -

Minor update - I went all thru the bios again, checking for stuff that could be "turbo'd" or enabled/disabled. Everything looked the same, and it still posts at 466mhz, and Sandra still says I'm at 486mhz (6.0*81mhz) - and almost as fast as a P3 500. Even the Quake2 timedemo is a little faster....
