I've decided to buy a pioneer dvd, (btw, cheers for help earlier on ppl). Whilst checking up on some reviews, I noticed the creative dxr3 card, which is apparently a pretty good card (?) and about half the price of a hollywood.
on the CL site it says you should have a creative dvd player, ok, thats fair enuff.. they want to sell more of their own, but is there anything CL have done that would actually stop me using that card with another dvd player (ie, the pioneer) rather than one of their own ?

thx for any help

No,
I called Creative with the same question. They said that any DVD will do. If you are going to buy a scsi...wait. I called Pioneer and the 10xscsi slot loads are coming out soon.
