Tweak tools and burn in time???

Hello,
whenever you guys talk about burn in time... what do you mean by that? How do I do that?

Where can I get the neat tools you people have been using such as Sandra and That CPU ID Programm?

Any Input welcome.

Almost Any program you can get at Download.com (i know for a fact that Sandra is there..) Anything else u cant find, mail me and Ill dig into my pile and email it to ya..cuz i like to hoard apps n stuff now (puttin that 8.4 gig harddrive to use http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif)
Most of these comp progs are small anyways so i wont mind at all...Im always glad to help

Burn-In time is the time you need to burn-in your system.

You know what burn-in is, right?

Not? OK, since I can be considered a burning specialist http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif lets get more specific.

If you overclock your cpu, you may have to burn it in, before it can run stable. To do this, you run some programs (wait for details...) for some time (your burn-in time). After that, your cpu may have changed for good. Maybe not. Nothing is guaranteed in overcocking.

The programs should use the cpu at 100% utilization. Programs that do that would be for example prime95 (mersenne.org), rc5des (distributed.net), setiathome (setiathome.org) or Quake timedemo. NOTE: Don't nail me down to the exact url's, I don't know them verbatim, just try...

The burn-in time can vary from hours to days. If your system is not stable then, you may have problems unsolvable by burning-in.
