Hey my question is if pilters take 12 voltes doesn't a power supply have 120 volts on it standard? why is everyone talkin about addin a new powersupply on? also is there a way to see how much juice is left in a powersupply?

My peltier takes a maximum of 16.6 volts DC, not 120 volts AC. My power supply only has up to 12 volts DC, which means I can not run the peltier at max. voltage.
If you had a power supply with an output meter, then you should be able to see how much more wattage you can draw before frying your power supply. Not many PC's have that feature.

wait a sec?! U mean if u put too much it fries the power supply it does not just shutdown?
