Once apon a midnight drreary,
here I sit wet and weary.
K-bar & M16 at my side,
by these laws I must abide.
An R&S patrol left moments ago,
will they return, I do not know.
The air is moist, it just stoped raining;
this is war no longer training.
Life and death is the game,
for this fact I have no shame.
Someone yells "Incomming",
the wounded scream. Death surounds me,
I whish it were a dream.
This Hell will last for an eternity...
But this is my my life, my death...
My Infantry...
-Me (On a cold night many years ago)

Time has come
and time is gone,
but I am lost
I know not why
or for how long.
If I might
and if I may
I'll pray the night
takes me away.
-Me

When Darkness falls,
my body does rest.
My soul does walk
in the path it chose.
In the pich of the deepest
recesses of my mind
I saw standing,
a single white rose.
The purest beauty on
the darkest night,
another love I'll
never find...
untill I leave this
world behind.
-Me again

I wrote all my good stuff when I was younger during more troubled times. Anyone else have some wierd poetry to share...?

Thank you for serving and surviving!

I have written some weird stuff like that when onboard the USS T.Roosevelt in the gulf war, but I was not in near the danger you were in!

I think I lost the poetry on purpose.
