Could someone give me some instructions in how to o/c my p200 mmx to say a 233. My current BIOS doesn't seem to have options for changing voltage etc. so I'll probably need some prog that'll let me do it. I presume I don't need a fan for such a small rise in speed?? Anyway, it's my first o/c so I'd appreciate all the help i can get. Thanks!

Thats a sinch...Ok...well do u have 'multiplyer settings in your BIOS? If its there it should say 3x in it...if so just change it to 3.5x. If not, your hafta crack open your case and take a look inside. There will be lil things covering some pins inside..These are the jumpers to your motherboard. Move one pin and see what kinda difference it makes when you boot..If it posts a different multiple of 33 when you boot up, then youve found your multiplyer pin! Otherwise move it back and try the next pin. Move that multiplyer jumper til you have it on the 3.5x pins..i dont know if it would be labeled or not. On my 200MMX, it was a row of 3 pins by 2 pins, and the default was the middle 2 pins. I moved the jumper to the left to get 3.5x The settings for my mobo was w2x for first two pins, 3x for second two pins and 3.5 for third two pins. There was also a row of 6x2 pins, which were voltage setting and clearly labeled as such on the board..I left this jumper alone. The jump from 200 to 233 should be no sweat at all and wont require you get to get anymore cooling or anything like that.

It could very possible be that ur cpu is multiplierlocked. Then you only have the FSB (Front Side Bus) speed to overclock with. Try 75MHz instead of the normal 66 first.

The first thing you should do, Nanor, is check your motherboard manual. It should tell you the jumper-pin settings for 233Mhz. If you can't find your manual, you should look for you MB manufacturer on the web, and see if you can DL it from there.
Once you have your motherboard manual, overclocking is VERY simple. You simply set the jumper pins (or the bios) for a faster system, and there you havie it.

I changed the jumper settings to what was specified for 233 in my mobo manual, but got no change when I re-booted the pc. The only jumper settings on the MB anywhere near the cpu are these, and they consist of 3 rows with two pins each. I changed from 1,3 and 4,6 on JB1 to 1,3 and 2,4, while leaving J21 at 1,2. No change like I said, at least at bootup the config screen still read 200mhz and the BIOS setup was the same. I can't see any jumpers for chaning the voltage. The JB1 jumpers are supposedly for this, but only 60mhz and 66mhz. Any suggestions as to what do now??

Sounds like the 200 chip you have is multiplier limited and won't do a 3.5x (233Mhz) multiplier. In that case, there is not much more you can do without higher bus speeds than 66Mhz.
If you look at the bus speed jumpers again, there should be a combination not listed but is physically possible.
This sometimes can be a "undocumented" bus speed setting. Sometimes as low as 50Mhz and sometimes as high as 75 or 83Mhz. Play with them, see if it makes a difference!
I'll take KEC95's line of advice here: If you can't overclock it, burn it!
