Whats the limit you shouldnt Exceed? What kinda temps are your comps at? ANy input is welcome.

Right now my room is about 85*F. With the case closed and a 50CFM fan, the mobo ambient is 98*F. At 300MHz the PII450 temp is 120*F. At 527MHz it's 132*F. These temps don't bother me. I hope this helps.

P.S. The mobo runs hotter with the case open. That 50CFM fan kicks!

EDIT ~ About 5 min after I posted the above, I was treated to the dreaded blue screen. Now I'm back up at 504. Temps are 102*F case and 132*F CPU. I guess the CPU just didn't like running that fast at that temp. I'll update this if it gives up again.

so sub 100 should be fine right?I get 36c (96f) with case closed (350@434)..2 case fans(them $5 ones), the retail P2 job, and one of those fans that fits ina PCI slot under the AGP. Room temp is also 85f. If i open the case on the mobo side and turn a 17" fan on it on low It drops to 31c. (anything higher blows my papers around =P). I kinda started freakin when it hit 36...its not getting any higher than that so i *believe* im safe.

You mest not be using the processor very hard to maintain those LOW temps.

I run a program that pushes my processor to 100% load at all times. MY CPU thermal diode is reading 46C (116F) right now with a room temp in the low 70's. The m/b case temp with the case off and a 20" box fan turned on high right next to the computer is reading 32C (87F).

I have an Alpha heatsink mounted on my PII-450 running at 527 MHz @ 2.1 volts. I used thermal compound, dual 18cfm fans on the Alpha, a peltier fully insulated around the processor board.

Prior to adding the peltier, my CPU temps hit 68-69C. My next prject will be to add a second peltier and try to lower the CPU temp to around 20C, I then am hoping to hit 558 or 600 MHz (with full 100% load). I know I can run 558 MHz, cause it will run for 10 mins. before locking up now.

If I turn off the program that uses the 100% CPU load, leave the peltier running, and turn on "rain" cpu idle program, the CPU temp drops to 18C in about 5 mins.

I'm using MotherBoard Monitor on an Abit BX6-2.

your right..I dont know how much this taxes my comp but after a 3 hours session of halflife (gotta love it) it was 32. I set CPUIdle to turn off when load gets over 25% for 5 seconds, and it did shut off so load was at least 75% i suspect..Im gunna start using SETI@Home just to see how hot my limit is..
Oh yeah..using MBM on Abit BH6

Ditto Roy MBM/BX6 2.0

If you can keep the case temp roughly 10-15F higher than room temp, your in good shape.

my room temp is 20.6C and my mboard temp is 27C... i don't really have a cpu temp meter but i have i have a little indoor/outdoor digital temp guage that says 33.6C when touched to my heatsink. I have a p2 350 oc 463 (2.0V) This is taken when my compuer has been running rc5 for days and days...

Can you run SETI@Home while running other stuff? It wont slow down anything or choke up anything else right? It only usese unused cycles so I can play gmaes with it on? I like the interface (wayyyys better than RC5)
Just wonderin..
Cuz i wanna have 100% load for about 2 hours but dont really feel like staring at it
