Could someone clear up all this for me?

Here ya go:

any pentium III that does not have a letter assigned to it is running on a 100mhz front side bus with a 512kb L2 cache that is off-die (seperate from the processor core) and runs at half the processor speed.

any pentium III that has a B after it runs on a 133mhz front side buss.

any pentium III that has an E after it has an on-die 256kb L2 cache that runs at the same speed as the processor.

any pentium III that has an EB after it has both the 133mhz front side bus and the 256kb on-die L2 cache running at the same speed as the processor.

hope that helps

An additional note - The 'E', while signifying the advanced cache, also indicates that it has a coppermine core (0.18um processing), as opposed to the original 0.25um of the oldschool P3. This makes it use less voltage, run cooler, makes the core smaller, and best of all, overclocks better http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
