I will soon be jumping into getting a DVD-ROM drive for my computer. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good one that will run me about $90? Thanks!

even though it sounds like a cheesey one, I got the HI-val 6x dvd rom for 90 bucks at CompUSA. I use an Ati hardware card to decode it and have had absolutely no complaints http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

hmm... that is a possibility... I also have a computer show in the area this weekend, and was hoping to find one there for a decent price. Any other suggestions? I'll probably go check out any possible reviews over on the User Reviews section of sysopt.com when I get a chance.

Well... I went ahead and got the Pioneer 104S. It's a 10x DVD/40x CD-ROM with slot loading. $105 shipped.

GREAT choice bud. Had mine for a couple months now, and got my friend one for his custom build. The 104S is one of the nicest drivers ever made, atan excellent price.
BTW I got both of mine at a computer show. The first one for $87 about 2 months ago, and the second one for $95, last weekend (heck, I got the last one they had...things are selling like wildfire, told the guy to pack some more for people who want this drive..who wouldnt?)
