Ive been running my K62 350 at 400 for months without a problem. I decided to go to 450 by changing the clock to 4.5 X 100 instead of 4 X 100. I left the voltage at the default 2.2 setting. No luck with this win98 boots but then freezes at the desktop.

I don't think heat was the problem I have a large heatsink/fan combo, thermal compound, and an extra case fan aimed at the cpu.

Any suggestions? Do I need to raise the voltage to 2.4 or higher...Has anyone got there K62 350 up to 450???? Thanks!

If your k6/2 is based on cxt core, it definitely will go 450Mhz, just need a bit voltage increase, try 2.5v. Besides, k6/2 350 is selling for $38 at pricewatch, you know what I'm talking about. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I had my K6-2 350 running at 448 (112x4). Needed 2.4 to do it though. I don't like running higher voltages than chip suggest so I keep it at 392 (112x3.5). I have an FIC 503+ mobo. The amazing thing is, I'm only using 60ns EDO RAM. (thanks for letting me know I could run past 100 or higher with old EDO, CMonster) I'm eager to see what I can get this setup to do with PC100 RAM. Happy overclocking!

If W98 will boot, but lock, at std voltage, you're probably very close. Up the voltage. but in small steps, less is better. Try 2.3 first.
