I'm building my first overclocked system over the next few months and would like to tap your collective expertise on a few items...
Slot 1 or slot 370? - I'm inclined to go with the 370 (perhaps an Abit BM6) but am unsure about intels plans for it. Will the be PPGA P3's?
Will a celery run ok with a 133mhz fsb? I'm planning on spending some $ on good ram and need to know if its worth it.
Celery 300 vs. 433? - Everyone seems to love the 300, but the prices on 433s are really coming down (I've seen $105) Which would you suggest and why?
Video card - I'm planning on getting a TNT2 card. Should I wait for the 4x AGP chipset to be able to fully utilize this card or is there a way to SAFELY bump a 2X AGP bus to 4X?
Any recoomendations on a good ATX mid tower case?
I know, i know - so many questions!! Just want to do it right the first time....
Thanks

433 celeron 370, but with slotkit card, get an ABIT BX6 r2, or a BH6, get PC100, it will run 133 if you need it to anyway. Get a TNT2, and if you want to wait for the AGP 4x, get a Voodoo 2 or a voodoo banshee for now, and get the TNT2 when AGP 4x comes, Just my dollar (2 cents with inflation and all)

Thanks for the info.
As for the AGP, I think the TNT2 is a 4X capable card, but there is no chipset which supports 4X mode yet. Right or wrong?
Can I get a mobo now and get a 4X AGP BIOS update in the future or do I have to wait for new chipset? or can I do a 2X multiplier on the AGP bus based on a 133mhx FSB?

the socket370 vs slot1 think is kinda a toss up
The socket 370, while having new chips comin the in future in that format, may have the weaker Mobo's
The slot 1 may die out altogether after camino comes out.
No one knows whats really gunna happen
As for the AGP 4x, yes the TNT2 has AGP 4x capabilitys, and I believe that you will need a new motherboard that supports the AGP 4x. I dont think something like that is bios upgradable. As for the case, theres several things youll want to look at
1) ATX form factor
2) 235w+ power supply
3) Rounded edges (if u bled to death from comp case lacerations, it would make an interesting epitaph...)
4) revomable side panels for easy in-case access
5) youll wanna faceplate that matchs ur motherbord on the back..most come with about 4 faceplates u can choose from, and you can put in whatever one u want..but watch out for those cheapy ones that may now..causes alot of dust buildup.
6) enuf external (and internal) bays to put in everything you want.
That about sums it up for cases
And for the Cel's at 133 FBS
Theres NO WAY your gunna hit that
Cels run at 66 FBS
133's double that.
No cels gunna wanna pump twice its speed
you can probably just get any 10ns ram even for a cel, since your most probably not gunna jump over 100 FBS (maybe 103, but no more..). I have a PC66 stick that runs at 103. I dont know if this is rare, but if u just get PC100 youll be fine. I dont much believe in brand name ram, but do whatcha will..

Slot 1. There will be PIIIs up to 667MHz that use it.
Take a look at MicroStar's MSI-6163. It's the "BH6-2". Reviews are at www.bxboards.com (http://www.bxboards.com) , www.thetechzone.com (http://www.thetechzone.com) and elsewhere.
BXBoards used it in their 6/1/99 updated SDRAM Review to evaluate sticks at 143 and 153MHz. I have one on order. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Get a 4x AGP card, the 133 bus speed will demand it.

Slot 1, but a converter card, as the socket 370 chips overclock better.
