Should some more memory (like 128m) or wait to my next computer (about a year away) and see if they change to something different.

Get the PC700 which runs at 356mhz instead of 100mhz. I think there is a PC800 that runs a little faster. I'd recommend getting the better RAM.

Depends on several factors:

How much do you have now?
What operating system do you have?
What do you use your system for?

If you already have 128meg of memory and use Win9x, then more memory will most likely not help with most applications and games. It would help most with CAD or ausiovisual apps.

As for the memory of tommorrow, VIA and AMD are to move their deisng to PC-133 DDR-SDRAM. It operates at double rate (266mhz) by moving informatio at both the clock rise and fall. Intel is going towards Rambus. It has extremely high clock rates (800mhz capable) but has a narrow bandwidth as compared to DDR.

In the end, the DDR will slightly outperform the Rambus with current cpu's and video cards with dealing with most applications. Gaming see's the most benifit from Rambus, since more information is traveling across the AGP bus to and from the system memory.

Right now i have 32m(pc100) in my system, i run win98, and i use my system for games, word processing and sufting the net. I just really want to know if worth spending money now or get more memory then i update in about a year.

In my opinion 32mb isn't enough for anything. Sure, it will get you by, but anything less than 64 really doesn't cut the mustard. I have upgraded 32mb machines to 64mb and it seemed like twice the performance. I would even say 96mb is better, and probably a good recommendation for you. Spend the sixty bucks or so on 64mb now and get the better performance out of your system. If you were going to buy 512mb or something like that, I would say wait. I don't know the mhz of your machine, but with 96mb of ram it should still have some good usefullness a year from now.

Hi

In my humble opinion, I would say that no matter what you are doing with your PC (games, business apps, ...), 128Mb should be the minimum...
