Tried to change settings in the BIOS, but only got a menu to change processor speed from 266 to 300 or 333.
Tried setting of 300 -- nada, no boot
Tried setting at 333 -- booted, but BIOS said it was a 133 and it certainly acted like one, v slow.
Any info? Thanks
Intel hates overclockers. Certainly their boards would not allow it. I have one of the same in my "little" machine. No way!
I recommend the Abit BX6-2.02, and I like to shop at www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com) . However, there has been a bad batch of these boards, so make sure you are dealing with someone who can give some assurance of function.
If your P2-266 was made before 8/98 (or was that 8/97? I've lost track of time) then it may not be multiplier locked and has more possibilities. If it's locked at 4x, then you have a shot at 4x75=300, 4x83=332, and maybe 4x100=400. Klamaths don't usually go very far.

Well i researched... and it seems i can overclock my PII266, but i need a new mobo.
As far as i can tell the AL44OLX can't be changed. Is this right.
Also, what speeds can i get out of the PII266 -- it's a Klamath.
Thanks.
